Many years ago, I learned something from Esther Hicks, who channels the teachings of Abraham: that everything begins with a thought. Our dreams, our hopes, even our circumstances—all of it originates in the unseen. If we pay attention to the whisper of our inner muse, trust what we hear, and then take consistent steps toward it, the invisible becomes visible and real. What starts as an idea can take shape in our physical lives.
This process unfolded in my own journey.
Over 20 years ago, I moved to Carson City, Nevada, and accepted a temp-to-hire job. It didn’t last. After only three weeks, I was let go. But one day, as I was driving through town, I saw a large four-story brick building—Nevada Department of Transportation Headquarters. A quiet but clear thought bubbled up: I’m going to work in that building.
I didn’t know anyone who worked there. I had no special inside track. But I held onto that thought. While working through a temp agency and later two other companies, I began submitting job applications for any State of Nevada positions I qualified for. Over time, I sent in at least ten applications.
Eventually, discouragement crept in. I stopped applying. But then a neighbor encouraged me to keep trying. She mentioned there were many open positions, and something in her words reignited that inner spark. Soon after, I found a posting that felt right, applied, got an interview—and was hired!
I started as a grade 27 and eventually worked my way up to grade 35. I topped out in the step system and retired at 65 with a state pension that has allowed me to live bountifully and securely.
This wasn’t magic. It was alignment. A whisper of intuition, a picture in my mind, followed by steady action. Even when I lost faith, life nudged me back toward the path.
✨ So what vision is tugging at your soul today? Hold it gently. Listen. Act. And watch what unfolds.
This same principle—the power of vision, belief, and action—is what inspired me to write the Liberty and Prosperity Plan. It’s not just a proposal; it’s a collective vision. It begins with a belief that America can work better—for all of us. And it calls on each of us to imagine and then build a system that honors fairness, sustainability, dignity, and shared abundance.
Just like a career path, or a life path, a new path for our country begins with a single thought. Let’s think something better—and then walk it into being, together.
